After graduating from Norfolk State University (’98) with a BS in Mass Communications (Broadcasting), Mikado accepted God’s call to full-time ministry and joined the Greater Houston Fellowship Athletes staff in November 1998. In 2000, Mikado became the chaplain for the University of Houston Football Team, while continuing to serve middle and high schools around the Houston area. In 2005, Mikado became the full-time Campus Director for FCA at the University of Houston serving in the athletic department on a daily basis. He provides team chapel services, coaches Bible study, weekly huddle meeting, and 1-on-1 counseling/mentoring for numerous coaches and athletes. Mikado has been married to his bride, Shaundra, for over 13 years and has 3 beautiful children: Maya (13), Kendall (10), & MJ (7). Mikado is an active member/Associate Minister at Together We Stand Christian Church in Missouri City, TX. Mikado loves watching Boxing and is a self-proclaimed boxing enthusiast/historian!
